COR™  Special Presentation                                                        

(Monday May 10,  6 p.m. – 8 p.m.)

         

This Free informational session will provide attendees with information regarding COR™ Certification. The Certificate of Recognition Program (COR™) is an occupational health and safety accreditation program that verifies a fully implemented safety & health program which meets national standards.  COR™ is now frequently used as a pre-qualification and/or condition of contract by public and private project owners across Canada.  COR™ is endorsed by Manitoba Labour, Workplace Safety and Health Division and the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB). COR™ Certified status is the ultimate distinction verifying companies which have implemented a comprehensive safety program.

 

Principles of Safety Management

This course provides a basic introduction into the 14 elements of an effective company safety program.  Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and a customizable CD with sample safety policies and checklists.  A safety program registration number will be issued to all companies who confirm senior management’s attendance.  This course is a requirement for the COR™ training program.

WHMIS

This course is designed to provide the basics of WHMIS.  Responsibilities of:  workers, employers and suppliers will be discussed as well as an introduction and detailed explanation of WHMIS labels, symbols, categories and material safety data sheets.  Workplace Safety Legislation requires any person who works with or in the proximity of ‘controlled products’ to be trained in WHMIS.

Train the Trainer

This course is a requirement for the COR™ and SECOR™ training programs.  Completion of the (WHMIS 4 hour course is a prerequisite.)  Participants will receive instruction and a copy of the framework which can be used to customize your company’s own WHMIS training program.  Participants will have the opportunity to plan, prepare and practice their newly acquired skills.

Leadership for Safety Excellence                                                                    

 

This course was designed for management and supervisory positions. It enables supervisors to build safety and health into their everyday planning - making safety a daily part of their supervisory function. Communication skills are stressed and practiced. LSE Day 1 will primarily cover supervisory legislated responsibilities and roles, as well as training in workplace inspections.

Safety Rep Awareness                                                                     

 

This course is specifically tailored to the roles of the site worker safety representatives.  Learn the guidelines and practical solutions to dealing with your legislated responsibilities for safety and health concerns on the jobsite.

Prime Contractor                                                           

The Prime Contractor course will focus on providing companies with effective guidelines to assist them in fulfilling their responsibilities as a prime contractor. This course will examine a Prime Contractor's legislated requirements and focus on developing practical methods to meet these requirements.

Safety Auditor                                                         

Audits provide an assessment of the current state of an organization's safety program, which will identify specific areas where improvements to the system can be made. These audits can also support a company who believes their organization is ready to be independently audited to achieve COR™ Certification within the program mandate. Through a practical workshop, students will be shown the simplicity of the audit and how to utilize standardized forms.

CD Rom Training                                                        

Receive valuable safety training at your convenience with CD ROM training. Training is fully interactive and includes a combination of live-action video, high-end graphics, dramatic real-life situations, and a computer-generated comprehensive test. Receive a certificate of training and an automatic course documentation upon completion.
